Purchasing tickets in advance is always strongly recommended. However, you can also purchase tour tickets—which are required in order to visit the Castle—at the Visitor Center when you arrive.

Hearst Castle Theater Experience
Watch the movie “Hearst Castle – Building the Dream” on a gigantic five-story screen. Tickets for the movie can be purchased separately, but they are also included with the purchase of tickets for a daytime tour.
William Randolph Hearst Exhibition
Free to the public as a service of Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument, the exhibition provides additional insight into the Castle, its architect Julia Morgan and its owner W.R. Hearst—all through family histories, vintage photographs, historical documents, and works of art.
Bus Ride to Hearst Castle
When your scheduled tour time arrives, head to the boarding area located in the center of the Visitor Center to begin your scenic 5-mile bus ride up to Hearst Castle.
