Hearst Castle is open and can be reached from the north via Highway 101 to Paso Robles. Due to the recent mudslides in Santa Barbara County, travelers from the Los Angeles area are advised to use Interstate 5.

San Simeon, CA – Visitors to Hearst Castle® now have a new way to learn about Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument, its history, and art collection thanks to the use of Quick Response or QR codes which are displayed on all Hearst Castle® maps.  This new technology which is similar to a bar code, can be scanned by any visitor using their smart phone and its QR application.

The intent is to enhance our excellent guided tour programs, to provide a direct and easy way to support our educational, interpretive, and restoration activities, and provide a new way to donate to the Friends of Hearst Castle, a non-profit cooperating association.

The information provided on the QR website will be updated on a regular basis.   California State Parks thanks the Friends of Hearst Castle for providing the QR codes and for helping Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument take this technological step forward.
