The Art of San Simeon Tour is offered seasonally and is not available during the summer. Please look for the return of this tour in the fall.
Hearst Castle is the only art museum operated by California State Parks and is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. In conceiving his San Simeon estate, William Randolph Hearst and architect Julia Morgan created a unique showplace where old and new works of art were commingled to amuse and educate Hearst’s guests. More than 90% of the objects in Hearst Castle were purchased specifically for the estate. On this two-hour semi-private tour, your guide will focus on Hearst and how he acquired his paintings, tapestries, sculptures, antiquities and other fascinating works of art. In groups limited to eight participants, you will visit some rooms that are featured in the four standard daytime tours and continue to rooms in the Castle that have never before been included.
The Art of San Simeon tour will not be run during our peak period from June 1st through September 30th. The tour will resume on October 1st, 2019.
