San Simeon, CA – Experience Christmas at Hearst Castle, as it looked in its heyday! For the first time, the Castle has been decorated much as it was in the 1930s, when William Randolph Hearst welcomed his glamorous guests for the holidays. Using historic photographs and archival research, Hearst Castle’s staff have recreated the decorations in Casa Grande’s grand social rooms.

Marvel at the Assembly Room’s two towering Christmas trees, and the piles of unwrapped toys beneath them, including historic bicycles, wagons, dolls, and carriages. Enjoy the spectacle of eight decorated trees in the gorgeous Refectory dining hall.

Your guide will regale you with stories of sumptuous holiday feasts and the generosity of Hearst and Davies as recalled by his former employees and guests. Our Holiday Twilight Tour is the perfect way to get yourself in the mood for an old-fashioned Christmas!

The Holiday tour will run every night from December 16th through the 30th with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Advance tour reservations are recommended and may be purchased online at www.reservecalifornia.com or (800) 444-4445 or in-person at the Visitor Center. Holiday Twilight Tours are priced at $30.00 for adults and $15.00 for children 5-12.
